Content Strategy
The Real Reason Most Local Businesses Can't Get Leads
It's rarely the quality of the work. It's that the content representing that work looks exactly like everyone else's.
Ask any contractor why business is slow and you'll usually hear about the market, the season, or the competition undercutting on price. Look at their actual online presence, though, and the real issue is usually visible immediately.
Before-And-After Photos Aren't Enough Anymore
Before-and-after photos used to stand out. Now they're table stakes, every competitor has a feed full of them, and a stranger scrolling past can't tell one contractor's work from another's. Content that looks identical to everyone else's doesn't help a customer choose between two similarly priced options. It just blends in.
People Choose A Person, Not Just A Result
Showing your face on camera and explaining your thinking on a job does something a photo of the finished work never can: it builds trust before the first call ever happens. Someone who talks through why they made a decision on a job reads as the expert in the room, not just another vendor who could be anybody.
Positioning As The Authority Costs Nothing But Comfort
Most business owners avoid the camera because it's uncomfortable, not because it wouldn't work. That discomfort is exactly what separates the businesses pulling ahead from the ones standing still. Being visible and explaining your expertise does more for how a stranger perceives you than another before-and-after photo ever will.
The Fix Is Rarely More Ads. It's Different Content.
When leads slow down, the instinct is usually to spend more on ads. But if the content behind those ads is still generic, more spend just shows more people the same weak material. Fixing the content itself, making it face-forward and expertise-driven, usually does more for lead flow than any amount of extra ad spend.
